Then this message came to Jeremiah from the Lord: “I am the Lord, the God of all the peoples of the world. Is anything too hard for me? (Jeremiah 32:26-27 NLT).
Today I’d like to encourage you to ask yourself a serious question: Is anything too hard for God? You see, if you reflect on who God is and what He can accomplish, the trials and obstacles of life will seem less earth-shattering. Those pressures you have been handling will seem less of a burden when placed in the hands of an Almighty God.
I remember one night in particular when David and I were at our deer lease in Mason, Texas. We had the use of an old farmhouse on the property. It was very old. It kept us pretty dry and fairly warm, but that was the extent of it. When we arrived and unpacked, I told him to make sure all his stuff was off the floor and that he slept in one of the top bunks explaining that sometimes we would have some night visitors wander through the room. There were almost always a few mice and an occasional larger critter that liked to rummage through the room for a late evening snack! He was old enough not to admit or show any fear, but before we went to sleep he said, “Dad, do you have your pistol close by just in case?” I said I did and that he didn’t need to worry. He was asleep long before I was!
I wonder how many times our heavenly Father has desired to reassure me in my fears, but I really wasn’t asking or listening very well. The key is in constantly reflecting on who God is at the core of His character. There is nothing He cannot do. I can trust Him completely with everything. There is no problem too big or too small. God can do anything! These are very difficult days. All of us are likely facing some challenge in our lives. Could I remind you that there is NOTHING too hard for God? After all, if he could create everything by merely speaking it into existence, is there anything that is too hard for him to handle? So take some time and reflect on who God is. He cares for you, and there is nothing He can't do! |
